At just 37 years old, Tom Hendriks from Bladel is already a veteran at Wilting. Tom first joined the company in 2006 as a student, and in 2025 he remains a highly valued colleague. Today, he serves as a trainer of young talent, acting production leader, CNC miller, and above all, a go-to person for questions, as his colleagues appreciate the knowledge Tom has built up over the past 19 years.
Tom’s passion for the trade started early. Before beginning his study at Wilting in Wintelre in September 2006, he had already spent several weeks working there during his summer vacation. It’s a perfect example of Tom’s strong work ethic, one he strives to pass on to the apprentices he mentors at Wilting. And learning is something Tom has continued to do himself over the years. From Edgecam programming and five-axis milling to production planning and guiding young practical trainers, Tom has mastered a wide range of skills during his time at Wilting. And throughout all those years, he has never stopped working behind the milling machine.
“That’s still the best part of the job,” says Tom.
Tom has witnessed Wilting’s transformation from a small production company with about 20 employees into the thriving business it is today.
“Innovation and renewal are what define Wilting,” Tom explains, “and that’s why, after all these years, I still feel completely at home here. The work keeps getting more precise, and the quality of the products we make continues to rise. You grow along with that, and that’s what makes my job so rewarding!”
All of this led Production Manager Marco van Mol to nominate Tom for the Noordhof Award—a well-deserved recognition for his contributions at Wilting.
“I nominated Tom for this award because of his exceptional level of expertise, which he’s always eager to share with colleagues and trainees,” Marco says. “Even in his free time, Tom can often be found at Wilting, helping his colleagues move forward. Thanks to Tom, many apprentices have earned their diplomas and grown into skilled professionals within Wilting. More than enough reasons to put him forward for the Noordhof Award.”
Tom: “I’m honored to be nominated for this award. It shows that my work at Wilting is appreciated, and that means a lot to me.”
At Wilting, we are even prouder that Tom has dedicated himself wholeheartedly to our company for so many years. We wish him the best of luck and above all, a lot of joy, during the Noordhof Award ceremony on November 4, 2025.
